take it off

never go to bed with your makeup on

take it off

This time last year I was at the beach for my friend's bachelorette party weekend. A good time was had by all (mimosas and limos and dinners and dancing) but by Tuesday, my skin was looking less than flawless and more broken out than it had been in years. I committed the cardinal sin of makeup - during all the fun I gone to sleep with my makeup on.

Never again! I had to work to heal my skin for weeks, and since then I have made sure that I remove my makeup, cleanse my skin and use a toner and moisturizer every, single night.

As you get ready for your big day, or if you are a bridesmaid, in a wedding, one of the best things you can do to prepare for makeup is take care of your skin, and NOT leave your makeup on.  Here are three of my favorite makeup removers:

1. Sephora's Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is reasonably priced, and gets off that lash glue, winged liner and shadow primer. Just be sure to shake well prior to applying.

2. To get it all off, not just your eye makeup, these wipes from Neutrogena are the way to go.  Tough on makeup, but gentle on your skin, you can throw a pack of these into your bag for pre-workout makeup removal.

3. Go to your kitchen and grab the coconut oil. Yes, coconut oil. Yet another use for this magical cooking ingredient is to use it as a makeup remover, and it's my all time favorite. Loaded with skin nourishing, wrinkle diminishing Vitamin E, you just rub a finger tip full of coconut oil on your skin and wipe off. I like the other removers I mentioned above, but I really like that it is one ingredient, and not a laundry list of words I can't pronounce.

Seriously, take your makeup off, every night. Your skin will thank you, and your makeup will work to help you look even more flawless.

Be honest - do you take your makeup ioff every night? What is your go to makeup remover? Hop on over to our Facebook page to share how you take it off!
